The day started early, club members arrived at the artichoke parking lot at 6:30 am. Tables, grills, scale, measuring board & ECSA sign set up & in place. Coffee & Hot chocolate started.
Fishermen started arriving +/- 7:00 am. Registration has now begun, it continued for several hours, nonstop. We were expecting a great turn out & we were right. 120 fishermen total, drilling holes everywhere, the sight was fantastic. All this energy and enthusiasm was something to behold. Sun was out, very cold (20s) & a slight wind, made for a challenging day.
Mid morning the fish started arriving to be weighed, measured and logged in on the board. The burgers, hot dogs and chili were well underway. This was a happening and took on a life of its own. This event is definitely for the kids. There were quite a few on the ice & weighing in fish, all having a really good time. You could see it in their smile, proud to be bringing a fish to be logged on the board. Families turned out in great numbers also, this was great to see. This event is a lifetime memory for sure.
At the end of the tournament prized were awarded for the largest bass, pickerel & other species fish. Then a raffle ensued. A lot of joking, laughter & just good sportsmanship among all. ECSA is very proud to sponsor & be a part of this event. All went well and all had a great time!
See you all next year!
